Jackson police arrest local man on drug and weapons charges after two-day investigation | East Feliciana

Jackson police have arrested a local man on drug and gun possession charges after a two-day investigation that began with a traffic stop on Aug. 21, City Marshal Mitch Harrell said.

Harrell said Milan Timothy George, 33, 3813 Church St., was arrested for driving while license suspended, possession of a stolen handgun, possession of marijuana with intent to resell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The following day, police executed a search warrant on the Church Street home where he lived with his 60-year-old mother and seized more suspected illegal drugs and two more firearms, Harrell said.

In total, officers seized about 4 pounds of marijuana, 5 ounces of THC gummy bears, four grams of THC resin, seven grams of “shrooms” (suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms), various drug paraphernalia and two 12-gauge shotguns, Harrell said.

In addition to the drug charges, George was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Officials noted that the weapon was reported stolen in Michigan, and the investigation into the source of the shotguns is ongoing.

Officers have subpoenaed Morris to appear in court to answer charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Harrell said.
