Level 3 sex offender charged in Roxbury voyeur case – NBC Boston

A man accused of looking through a window in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood has been identified as a Level 3 sex offender with a history of similar crimes.

John Furr, 26, is suspected of looking into a bathroom window on Devon Street around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Court documents detail a lengthy criminal history, including an open child rape case and several other voyeur cases.

Furr was already out on bail awaiting trial on a charge of rape of a minor. He is accused of raping a 14-year-old in 2021 when he was 22. He was also accused of five peeping tom incidents in 2018, including one at South Shore Plaza where a woman said he slid his phone under the door of a dressing room while she was changing.

He was arrested by the Youth Violence Strike Force on Thursday on a warrant for sexual surveillance and trespassing. On Friday, Furr's bail in the rape case was revoked in Suffolk Superior Court and a competency hearing is scheduled for Monday. Only after that hearing will he face additional charges related to the peeping through the window.
