Birmingham police inform public via livestream about fatal shooting

Three people were arrested Friday in connection with the ambush shooting of a 21-year-old woman at Monarch Ridge Apartments on Tuesday. A teenager and two men were arrested, police said. The men, in their 20s, are charged with murder and attempted murder as another man was injured. A 19-year-old was charged with theft. Police said 168 shots were fired. Many witnesses were outside when this happened and some even livestreamed the fight and shooting. There are cars with windows and tires shot out and also many bullet holes in the walls and windows of the apartments. The shooting started after two women, one of whom was reportedly the victim, Asia Poole, got into a fight before the shots were fired. “We're talking about a 21-year-old who lost her life, can't raise her child and left a 4-year-old without a father and mother,” said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. A security guard used to stand in a guard shack at the entrance to the apartments, but that shack is now boarded up. Residents said that's because someone shot out the windows.
