Birmingham police inform public via livestream about fatal shooting

Three people were arrested Friday in connection with the ambush shooting of a 21-year-old woman at Monarch Ridge Apartments on Tuesday. A teenager and two men were arrested, police said. The men, in their 20s, are charged with murder and attempted murder as another man was injured. A 19-year-old was charged with theft. Police said 168 shots were fired. Many witnesses were outside when this happened and some even livestreamed the fight and shooting. There are cars with windows and tires shot out and also many bullet holes in the walls and windows of the apartments. The shooting started after two women, one of whom was reportedly the victim, Asia Poole, got into a fight before the shots were fired. “We're talking about a 21-year-old who lost her life, can't raise her child and left a 4-year-old without a father and mother,” said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. A security guard used to stand in a guard shack at the entrance to the apartments, but that shack is now boarded up. Residents said that's because someone shot out the windows.

A teenager and two men were arrested, police said. The men, all in their 20s, are charged with murder and attempted murder because another man was injured. A 19-year-old was charged with theft.

According to police, 168 shots were fired.

Many witnesses were outside when this happened, and some even broadcast the fight and shooting live.

There are cars with shot-out windows and tires, and there are also many bullet holes in the walls and windows of the apartments. The shooting began after two women, one of whom was allegedly the victim, Asia Poole, got into a fight before the shots were fired.

“We are talking about a 21-year-old who has lost her life, cannot raise her child and left a four-year-old without a father and mother,” said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.

Residents said they were afraid for themselves and their children. There used to be a security guard in a guard hut at the entrance to the apartments, but that hut is now boarded up. Residents said that this was because someone had shot out the windows.
