2 dead, several injured in separate shootings in Oakland – NBC Bay Area

Two people were killed and several others injured in two separate shootings in Oakland on Thursday evening, police said.

The latest fatal shooting occurred in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, police said. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and a call reporting gunshots around 11 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who appeared to have at least one gunshot wound, police said. Paramedics were also on site and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Early Thursday evening, officers responded to the 7900 block of Ney Avenue, police said. They found a victim with at least one gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. Several others injured in the shooting took themselves to nearby hospitals.

Both murder cases are under investigation.

The most recent fatal shooting in Oakland occurred in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, police said. Officers responded to the scene and found one person with a gunshot wound who died at the scene.

The identities of the victims have yet to be released to their families.
