Two people arrested following ongoing drug investigation, Charleston police say

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Two men face more than a dozen charges as part of an ongoing investigation after a search warrant was executed, according to Charleston police.

Keith Middleton, 26, of Charleston is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen handgun and cruelty to animals.

Keith is currently under the supervision of the state Parole and Parole Board, said Sergeant Chris Stinson, spokesman for the Charleston Police Department.

K'Von Hasim Middleton, 23, of Charleston, is charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Stinson said officers executed a search warrant at about 9 a.m. Friday for a home on Doscher Avenue in the Rosemont neighborhood north of downtown Charleston.

During the search, investigators recovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, marijuana and several prescription drugs from the home. They also found five firearms and several firearm accessories, including drum magazines, a rifle stock and a custom trigger. Stinson said two of the firearms had been reported stolen.

“This was the result of an extensive investigation assisted by patrol officers, detectives and community members,” Stinson said in the press release.

Keith and K'Von were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. Jail records show Keith's bail was set at $111,000 and K'Von's bail was set at $102,275.
