Accident on Highway 432 in Longview leaves one injured

LONGVIEW, Wash. (KPTV) – One person was hospitalized Friday night after two cars collided on Highway 432 (Industrial Way) in Longview, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 432 and Washington Way. According to the police report, a car entering the highway from Washington Way was struck by a car traveling west on the highway.

The driver of the car that hit the highway, 21-year-old Katelyn Hackenberg of Rainier, was taken to the hospital. The extent of her injuries has not been released.

The other driver was uninjured in the accident. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the accident.

The cause of the accident was stated to be disregard of a traffic signal.
