14 seconds agoWashington Nationals outfielder Alex Call was carried off the field during Friday night's game against the Atlanta Braves. Call charged at a shallow fly ball and fell to the ground after sustaining a non-contact injury in the bottom of the second inning. The 29-year-old was unable to stand on his foot and hopped to get to the cart. After his injury, Call was replaced by Joey Gallo in right field. The team has not yet announced the severity of his injury and until then he should be viewed day-to-day. However, it is reasonable to assume he will miss more time as it was a non-contact injury. The right-hander had a fantastic 2024 season, posting a 175 OPS+ in 98 AB, with most of his playing time coming in August after spending most of the year in the minors. Jacob Young should be a likely replacement for Call in the outfield, although Young is not currently a viable fantasy option in any format.Kevin Larson – RotoBaller
