Ella EmhoffThe dress she wore at the Democratic National Convention 2024 was created by a popular TikTok star who is a fashion designer!

The 25-year-old stepdaughter Kamala Harris entered the stage on the last evening, together with her step-cousin Meena Harris and the goddaughter of the Vice President Helena Hudlinin the night of Thursday (23 August).

The person who designed and made her dress is none other than TikToker Joe Ando Hirshwho shared several videos of the garment being made and a video of his reaction when he saw it Ella wore it at the conference.

“ELLA LOOKS SO GOOD!! 😭💙 @smellaemhoff,” he captioned his reaction video, which showed him watching TV and then cheering. In the video, he also wrote, “I watched a dress I made myself on national TV.”

In another video Joe said, “Okay, maybe this one is my favorite,” referring to the dress he wore for Ella.

While I was Daily Mail, Joe revealed that he only had one week to make the dress due to other projects he was working on.

“I worked about 15 hours a day for a week, which included creative development, draping, patterning, sewing, trying and fitting with Ella”, he said via email.

He said she wanted to work with an “independent designer” and “thought it would be a real creative process.”

“Ella was so happy to be involved and really felt the passion for the design experience from start to finish,” Joe continued. “It was incredible to watch her on stage, she looked perfect! The dress really reflected her style versatility and she really stood out so classy.”

Joe often shows off his custom designs on his TikTok page, giving behind-the-scenes glimpses of their creation and the finished product. He has also created looks for Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Dakota Johnson, Rachel Zegler And Keke Palmer!
