Crime against women, athletes, environmental department

I do not agree with the following two arguments:

1. That there is no possibility of any conspiracy against Vinesh Phogat.

I come from Haryana and have seen how sports work in Haryana since my childhood. The killings, the poisoning of food, the politics of the coaches, the drug trade and Subscribe is very common here among athletes. If you see these things happening around you, you may also believe in these conspiracy theories. The pressure and politics involved can make people do very bad things.

2. As far as sub-classification of quota is concerned, it is a political move that has been used by politicians several times to divide the SC/ST voters into factions. I believe that upper class is better than classification as it will open up more opportunities to the poor who could not get benefits within the Scheduled Castes and people like me who have once availed these benefits should not be benefited even more. An upper class will uplift the entire community and not just a few families.

Is the judiciary using AI? This could reduce the backlog of cases. We should stop celebrating isolated judgments of the Supreme Court. These only showcase those who managed to get there. For example, if Arvind Kejriwal was a zero or did not live in Delhi, could he easily approach this court? To keep up with the times, changes in the judiciary are required. The lack of timely judgments is creating anarchy in the Indian system.

Hi NL team, According to NCRB data, on an average, more than 50 crimes against women are registered every hour in India every day. Perhaps this is why we as a society have become so desensitized that we stop reacting to news of crimes like rape almost on a daily basis. However, the recent Kolkata rape case has (as it should) sparked an outcry. However, I wonder if the outcry here is simply due to the monstrous scale of the crime or was there some other reason? Because we know of several other cases across the country (Hathras, Kathua, Shakti Mills) that were also horrific but were forgotten with time. While I am skeptical, I hope this will lead to a long-term solution for women's safety (which unfortunately never happens).

I am writing to you again to advocate for Newslaundry to establish an environment newsroom. We are entering a period of climate change and environmental degradation where we are increasingly pushing the limits of our planet. Look at the last few years and the stories of heatwaves, floods and cyclones, and the annual reports on pollution in Delhi and floods in Assam. In addition, we must consider the second-round effects on agriculture, immigration, crumbling infrastructure and public health. Unlike in the past, when the impacts were theoretical, we can now see and feel the effects.

These problems are likely to become more acute in the foreseeable future. By establishing a dedicated department or reporters, Newslaundry can help present the bigger picture and change the discourse on these critical challenges.

I propose to form a NL Sena dedicated to environmental issues for a year. Hopefully there are other subscribers who share my concerns and will support this.
