Barcelona confirms nature of injury problem of long-term injured player

On Friday it was announced that Andreas Christensen will be out for the next two months. The Danish defender had been absent from group training in recent days and Barcelona's worst fears were confirmed during medical tests.

The club has now revealed the nature of Christensen's injury. According to an official report, the 28-year-old is suffering from tendinitis in his left Achilles tendon. Whether he can play again depends on his recovery, but it is expected that he will not return before the end of October.

During pre-season, it was discovered that Christensen was suffering from tendonitis. It seems that the problem has gradually worsened and this is the result. This is the last thing Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick needs, as he is already without Ronald Araujo for the next four months after he suffered a serious thigh injury at the Copa America earlier this summer.
