Bossier City Police have released the name of the person found in the Red River on Thursday.

After a meeting with the Bossier City Police Department, which is leading the investigation, Bossier City Public Information Officer Louis Johnson told the Shreveport-Bossier Advocate that the body had been identified as Dominique Washington.

According to a KSLA report, Washington was a popular local DJ named Viral Djdredd.

A church in Shreveport posted the following message on Facebook on Friday:

“Good morning, NBFT church family. It is with heavy hearts that we come to you this morning. Sadly, we announce the passing of our Dominique Washington. We ask that you keep Sister Lisa Williams and her family, as well as the Washington family, in your prayers. We send you our sincere condolences during this time. Together, we are stronger.”

Johnson said the body was found by some jet skiers who reported the incident and the Bossier City Fire Department arrived, adding that no foul play is suspected.
