2 injured in shooting in Greenwood, 1 in custody

Two people were injured in a shooting Friday evening in southeast Greenwood.

Greenwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Prairie Sky Lane for a report of a person being shot just before 10:30 p.m. This was near the intersection of Worthsville Road and Sheek Road.

When emergency responders arrived, they found a man and a woman with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. They were both taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment, where they are expected to survive their injuries, said Deputy Police Chief Matt Fillenwarth.

A man was arrested in connection with the shooting, Fillenwarth said.

Marcus Dewayne Mundy, 36, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 4 a.m. Saturday, where he is being held without bail, jail records show.
