Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic accident in St. Louis early Saturday morning; police said the driver left the scene.

The hit-and-run accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near Natural Bridge and Belt Avenue, police said in a brief statement on social media. The shooting occurred on the border between the Mark Twain I-70 industrial area in St. Louis and the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's statement said they were called to the scene to reconstruct the accident.
