THE CROOKED MAN's international release date has been announced (and it's coming VERY soon)

Hellboy – The Cursed ManThe second trailer helped change a lot of minds, and while there's still not a lot of excitement surrounding the reboot, it at least feels like there's a chance it will surprise fans.

Strangely, no release date has been announced for the film yet, but thanks to an international distributor, the cat might be out of the bag. They say the film will hit Indian theaters on Friday, September 13.

PVR INOX Pictures is “the largest independent distributor of foreign language films in India,” and if the film is releasing there as early as next month, we have to assume that the same date will apply to other international locations as well (although we've seen August 30 as a date online as well).

We would say that it is likely that despite the release in cinemas abroad, Hellboy – The Cursed Man will be released digitally in the US and may not even make it to the big screen.

In a recent interview Hellboy – The Cursed Man Director Brian Taylor (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) made it clear that he does not want to imitate the predecessors with this new film.

“I don't think it's a reboot or that we're trying to start a new franchise – this isn't about content, this is about a film that has to stand on its own.” explained the filmmaker. “Nobody wants to see a cheap copy of a $100 million Guillermo del Toro movie. This is a return to the young Hellboy, where he was more of the plumber who solves your monster problem.”

“This wandering, sarcastic, soulful, smoking guy who stumbles upon supernatural hauntings and events and helps as best he can,” added Taylor. “If Mike [Mignola] If it feels like he's seeing his husband on screen for the first time, then I think we've succeeded.”
