Lewiston Police Department points to house where drug raid occurred

The City of Lewiston's Planning and Zoning Department has identified health and safety code violations for 149 College Street due to the accumulation of trash and debris outside, including drug paraphernalia and feces. It's the same property where officers have made four drug-related arrests in nine months, most recently arresting five people for drug possession on Aug. 15. If the owners don't clean up the property within 21 days, they face legal consequences and fines. The city will also hold a hearing on Sept. 3 to determine if the building poses a serious health and safety threat. If they conclude it poses a hazard or nuisance, they could take a number of actions, including demolishing the home.
