Columbus man allegedly raped woman who asked him for a tattoo

The two spoke on Facebook before agreeing to get the tattoo at his home in East Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A 22-year-old man was arrested Thursday after a woman who wanted to get a tattoo at his home reported that he raped her, according to Franklin County Municipal Court records.

According to court documents, Mario Rodriguez Ibarra and the victim spoke on Facebook on August 22 after the victim expressed interest in getting a tattoo from him.

The victim told Columbus Division of Police officers that Ibarra and a male acquaintance picked her up from her home that afternoon and drove her to Ibarra's home on the city's east side.

The victim said that when she was in Ibarra's bedroom, he allegedly pulled out a gun and ripped her clothes off. She was then raped, according to records.

When Ibarra allegedly fell asleep, the victim told police she got dressed and left the house, where she asked the male acquaintance for help.

The acquaintance called the police and waited with them until officers arrived. He told officers that while he was waiting for them to arrive, Ibarra went outside and admitted to using a gun to force the victim to have sex.

He appeared before a judge in Franklin County Municipal Court on Saturday morning, who set his bail at more than $750,000.
