Man killed in police-involved shooting in Edmond on Friday night

One person was killed in a police-involved shooting overnight in Edmond.

Emily Ward, spokeswoman for the Edmond Police Department, said police received a request for a welfare check at 1901 Three Stars Road shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.

“The caller stated there was an unknown person on their balcony,” Ward said. “Officers arrived and located a person. An officer-involved shooting occurred and the person is dead.”

Ward said no further information was available for release at this time.

The incident in Edmond followed a police officer-involved shooting in Mustang that also resulted in a welfare or health check.
