Buzz Aldrin reacted violently when conspiracy theorists accused him of faking the moon landing

Buzz Aldrin was the second person to ever walk on the moon, but before he could do so he had to train for years.

So the US hero can be forgiven for losing his composure when a conspiracy theorist accused him of falsifying his inheritance.

Yes, believe it or not, there are still conspiracy theories that the moon landing was faked – which just sounds nonsense to me.

I'm not even going to get into whether there was any reason why it was fake, I'm more interested in the Lunar-tics (if you're one of those crazy people, please excuse the pun) who believe in it.

Before we discuss Aldrin’s “violent reaction,” let’s talk about the legendary 94-year-old and his actions.

Last month marked the 55th anniversary of NASA sending Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins to the moon aboard Apollo 11.

On July 20, 1969, at 8:17 p.m., the legendary duo successfully landed the Apollo lunar module Eagle on Earth's only natural satellite and the two took photographs, including of their footprint on the moon and of Aldrin saluting the U.S. flag.

Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon and coined the phrase, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

But since then, there have been doubts about the legitimacy of this mission, which NASA has repeatedly proven.

One of these “truth seekers” was Bar Sibrel, who, according to BBC News, harassed Aldrin outside a hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and accused the American hero of lying about the moon landing.

In the recording, Sibrel can be heard yelling at Aldrin, saying that he told people he “landed on the moon when they didn't.”

In response to the hostility, the then 72-year-old raised his voice and called on his opponent to “get away from me”.

Sibrel replies: “You are a coward and a liar and a thief…”

At this point, Aldrin punches Sibrel, who had been coming toward his face, in the jaw.

Speaking later to Fox News about the “moon landing truthers,” Aldrin said, “I don't really pay any attention to them. They just want to make a name for themselves.”

After the incident, Sibrel, a native of Tennessee, attempted to file charges against Aldrin, but the case was dismissed because the court found that Sibrel was the instigator.

Well, personally, I think that's a fair move by Aldrin, and I guess I'm not the only one!
