US border guard allegedly asked women to show him their breasts

SYRACUSE, NY — A U.S. Border Patrol agent in New York is accused of asking women to show him their breasts, claiming it was part of his official duties, authorities said.

Border patrol agent Shane Millan, 53, was arrested on Thursday on charges of denying four women their constitutional right to protection from unreasonable searches, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York said in a press release.

According to prosecutors, Millan asked three women to show him their bare chests via webcam while he was processing their immigration applications. A fourth woman was asked to show him her breasts with her bra on, prosecutors said. The alleged incidents occurred in August 2023.

Millan told the women that exposing their breasts was part of the process of entering the United States, but in reality he did it for his own satisfaction, prosecutors said.

Millan was arraigned before a federal judge in Syracuse on Thursday and released pending trial.

A request for comment was sent to the Federal Public Defender's Office for Northern New York, which represented Millan at his arraignment.
