Denver police investigate fatal shooting | Crime and Justice

Denver police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead.

According to a social media post from Denver Police, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area between West Eighth Avenue and Kalamath Street — in the Lincoln Park neighborhood — around 9 p.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, a man was found injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown at this time.

In a subsequent post around 11:30 p.m., the department noted that the man had died in the hospital and launched a homicide investigation.

As of Saturday morning, the department had not released any information about the suspect. The investigation is still ongoing.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner following the investigation.
