Islamic preacher ‘found’ on leaked Ashley Madison list

Islamic preacher Hamza Andreas Tzortzis is said to have been “named” on the leaked member list of the erotic website Ashley Madison.

The well-known British preacher denied having an account on Ashely Madison, an infidelity dating website that was recently attacked by hackers who exposed the names of hundreds of thousands of its members. He said it was a conspiracy by the hackers to defame him.

Tzortzis, a member of the Islamic Education and Research Academy, is known for his debates with atheist Richard Dawkins.

In a Facebook post, Tzortzis wrote: “I noticed that my information is included in the Ashley Madison data leak. This includes my name, address and bank card details.”

“This is clearly a scam. My email address (this website does not check emails and all relevant emails ended up in the junk folder) can be found online, as can my address, as it is linked to my business account which is registered online.”

Tzortzis also said he had filed a formal police report regarding the hacking of his bank details.

“I am not ruling out anything at the moment, including the possibility of my phone being illegally hacked. Looking back, it has shown signs of being hacked.

“It appears that the first transaction was made in Australia when I was attending lectures and classes there. It could have been someone who knows me, someone who hates me, or a malicious person who found out who I am. It could have been one or two people, they could be working locally, coming from overseas, or both,” he wrote.

Tzortzis is known for his radical Islamic views and has openly expressed his stance on sexual morality and homosexuality.

He is said to have made several controversial remarks, including that those who leave Islam “should be killed”, and he has expressed support for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate.
