2 children flown out by helicopter after accident at rural intersection in Minnesota

Isanti, MN (KROC-AM News) – Two children were among four people flown by helicopter to a Twin Cities hospital following this morning's traffic crash in east-central Minnesota.

The Isanti County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to reports of a crash involving injuries at about 11 a.m. at a rural intersection between Princeton and Cambridge. A news release said a preliminary investigation revealed the driver of an SUV failed to stop at a stop sign, causing a T-bone collision with a second SUV.

The sheriff's office said the man and woman in one of the vehicles were taken away from the scene by helicopter. Three children and an adult were in the other SUV. The release said two of the children also suffered serious injuries and were initially taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital before being flown to the Twin Cities.

The names of the injured were not released. The sheriff's office said the accident is still under investigation.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Isanti Fire Department and Isanti Police Department assisted at the scene.
