Recent WhatsApp messages between Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, and PTI General Secretary Raoof Hassan have revealed internal conflicts within the party leadership.

The messages, dated June 23, 2023, reveal considerable disagreement over the portrayal of the party founder's imprisonment and the internal power struggles.

In the leaked chat, Aleema Khan is seen criticising a message purporting to be from Bushra Bibi, wife of Imran Khan. The message describes an emotional account of a prison visit by the PTI founder, including claims of restricted access and death threats. Aleema Khan dismissed this information as “stupid” and “disinformation” and instructed Hassan to suppress it and not publish such reports.

The message attributed to Bushra Bibi contained dramatic claims, such as restrictions on her visits to Imran Khan and an alleged conversation in which he expressed his fear of being killed by prison officials. It was also suggested that Army Chief Asim Munir was monitoring their communications, adding to the intrigue and controversy.

Political analysts interpret these exchanges as signs of a power struggle between Aleema Khan and Bushra Bibi. They suspect that Bushra Bibi may be trying to influence public opinion and gain sympathy through possibly fabricated reports, while Aleema Khan appears to be trying to maintain control over the party's narrative and influence.

The leaked conversation underscores Aleema Khan's apparent authority in party communications, as evidenced by her instructions to the general secretary. This incident reveals deep-seated tensions within the PTI leadership and raises questions about the authenticity of public statements and the internal dynamics of the party.

As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the leaked messages have opened a new chapter in the ongoing internal conflicts within the PTI, throwing a spotlight on behind-the-scenes power struggles and the manipulation of public perception.
