Sid Wilson suffers severe burns in explosion on a farm

Wilson recently announced on Instagram that he had been hospitalized for severe burns caused by an “explosion” during a campfire accident on his farm.

The singer, who was lying in a hospital bed with an oxygen tube, calmed his fans by recounting his ordeal in a series of videos.

“Hey guys, I had an explosion in my face,” he said. “I'm OK. I'm going to be OK. But I have serious burns on my face and arms.”

While medical staff treated his injuries, the 47-year-old musician showed the extent of the damage.

“You can see the phone shaking. That's because I'm holding it in my hand and I'm shaking. They're doing additional x-rays to make sure I didn't inhale any flames,” Wilson said in the clip.

He was transferred to a new facility for burn treatment

In a follow-up video shared a few hours later, Wilson appeared in what looked like an ambulance with bandages around his neck.

The “The Devil in I” hitmaker said he would be transferred “to another facility” that has better resources to treat his burns.

“You can see my lips got hit pretty bad,” Wilson noted, showing off his swollen lips, which had gotten even worse since his last video. “The worst part is my arms. They're going to shave my head, so I'm saying goodbye to the long hair. It's going away.”

I just wanted to come here and let everyone know that I'm OK. Of course, if I'm talking to you here the way I'm talking to you, it's not a big deal.”

Wilson answered fans' questions about how he got the burns, clarifying that the injuries were not from “a show,” but rather from a “bonfire” on his farm where some “leftover” flames reignited.

“I heard a faint hissing sound – fire,” he explained, mentioning that he was “working on the farm” at the time.

Despite the accident, Wilson expressed his determination to recover in time for Slipknot's upcoming sold-out shows in California on September 13 and 14, saying, “I'll be in LA – this isn't going to stop me.”

Slipknot also has concerts planned in Oklahoma, Washington and Indiana in the coming weeks.

Although Wilson is recovering, the band's website does not indicate if any shows will be rescheduled. Slipknot is currently scheduled to perform at the Rocklahoma event on September 1st.
