IMPD: Man entered Popeyes restaurant on Indy's north side with gunshot wound

INDIANAPOLIS – A man was reportedly injured in a shooting Saturday night before entering a fast-food restaurant in north Indianapolis.

According to IMPD, officers responded to a report of a person shot at around 8:01 p.m. on August 24 and were dispatched to the Popeye's restaurant at 2402 East 38th Street, near Keystone Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his “upper extremities.” Witnesses told police the man came into the restaurant bleeding and said he had been shot at the McDonald's restaurant across the street.

Police do not believe the shooting occurred in the area. The man was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition, but IMPD says he cannot provide a statement due to his injuries.
