Coroner asks for help identifying woman struck and killed by train in Springfield Twp.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) – The Lucas County Coroner is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who was struck and killed by a train in Springfield Township Saturday morning.

It happened on Saturday, August 24, at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Crissey Road. The coroner, seeking public information to identify the woman, released the following information:

This morning (08/24/2024) at approximately 8:30 a.m., a white female (age range approximately 30-40 years) was involved in a pedestrian-train accident. She has long brown curly/wavy hair and gray-blue eyes and was wearing blue jeans, yellow patterned socks, a blue t-shirt with the “Reading” rainbow logo, and a light blue zip-up sweatshirt. A cell phone was found near the body, but it was broken and has not worked since the incident. The back of the phone case features a cartoon image of a dinosaur with colorful raindrops. The location of the train accident was near the 1700 block of South Crissey Road in Springfield Township.
