Masterminds behind bars

In a major development, the mastermind behind the kidnapping of writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar has been arrested. Hasan Shah, the alleged mastermind, and his accomplice Rafique were arrested in Peshawar.

Shah confessed to plotting and forcing Qamar to record an indecent video. At least a dozen suspects, including women, have been arrested so far. Shah and Rafique have serious criminal records, including kidnapping and murder. Amna Urooj, one of the suspects, has been brought to court and the investigation is ongoing.
