Kirk Herbstreit has become the main target of Florida State fans and the ESPN analyst seized his opportunity for revenge.

FSU lost 24-21 to Georgia Tech in the first game of the college football season in Dublin on Saturday. After the game, Herbstreit sent a seemingly comforting message via X.

“Man, tough loss for the Noles in Ireland against a good GT team,” Herbstreit wrote on X.

“The good news is that with the new 12-team playoffs, there are still plenty of opportunities to get back into the group. Regroup and keep fighting! (sic).”

What makes this a troll job?

Last season, Herbstreit was one of the biggest supporters of the College Football Playoff committee's decision to exclude a 13-0 Florida State team from the CFP. Seminoles fans haven't forgotten, booing Herbstreit throughout Saturday morning's “GameDay” show.

In doing so, Herbstreit appeared to be poking fun at FSU's losing streak this season while also joking that the expanded playoffs were the team's path to advancement.
