Maya Moore became the fourth Minnesota Lynx player to have her jersey retired on Saturday, joining the elite club of WNBA icons.

Moore's jersey numbers are forever immortalized in Lynx history alongside Lindsay Whalen, Rebekkah Brunson and Seimone Augustus.

Moore not only had her jersey hung under the roof, but was also given a custom-made jacket and gold Jordan basketball shoes.

Some of Moore's Lynx teammates were in attendance Saturday and spoke highly of the Minnesota legend.

โ€œYou brought out the best in all of us, thatโ€™s how special you are,โ€ Brunson said of Moore.

Sylvia Fowles, who played with Moore from 2015 to 2018, joked that Moore “went at her own pace.”

“When we got here on the first day of practice, the talk was about getting going right away,” Fowles said. “I thought to myself, 'How can I keep up with these ladies? Maybe I did the wrong thing.' But Maya was definitely the one moving at her own pace, and that's slow. Out here, you see her dabbing and moving, but out back, you're not pushing Maya to do nothing.”

Moore had a legendary eight-year career in Minnesota, leading the Lynx to four WNBA championships and being named Finals MVP in 2013. She was the 2014 MVP and a six-time All-Star, winning All-Star Game MVP three times.

She led the league in steals in 2018 and points in 2014 and was named to the WNBA All-First Team five times.

When she retired in 2018, it was only a matter of time before the Lynx retired her jersey, and now that day has finally arrived.
