Joey Lawrence's estranged wife Samantha Cope breaks her silence on their shocking divorce … after the actor was accused of having an AFFAIR

Samantha Cope, the estranged wife of Joey Lawrence, broke her silence on her divorce from the actor in an emotional Instagram clip uploaded on Saturday.

The 37-year-old mother of one officially filed for divorce from the 48-year-old “Melissa & Joey” star on August 13 after two years of marriage. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason and gave June 7, 2024 as the separation date.

He was accused of having an affair with actress Melina Alves during his marriage to Samantha – and reportedly showered Alves with love while Cope “cried red eyes.”

Alongside a video montage, Samantha wrote the caption: “A wonderful friend of mine recently told me, 'Don't be afraid of the tears. Let them flow.'”

She added: “For every tear is God gently squeezing the pain and devastation from your heart to make room for new, beautiful feelings.”

“She also reminded me, 'The more you cry, the less you pee.' So let it flow. You can do it.”

In the post, Cope shared several clips of herself spending time with her one-year-old daughter Dylan Rose, whom she has with Lawrence.

The star also shared candid snaps of herself crying with her young daughter outside and also sitting in a car.

The film then cut to Samantha with a big smile on her face as she twirled around a spacious bedroom with her daughter in her arms.

Finally, Cope is seen standing next to a horse, surrounded by a picturesque landscape, and other sweet moments she shares with her little one.

Throughout the video, a voice-over could be heard saying, “Look at yourself, look how far you’ve come.”

“You got through your trauma and came out on the other side. And I'm sorry to get a little emotional. But there were times when I was really worried about you, Miss Girl. But look at you today. I'm so proud of you. You are a survivor child.”

On Wednesday of this week, it was revealed that Samantha filed for divorce from Joey on August 13, requesting that neither she nor her estranged husband should receive spousal support.

In documents obtained by Us Weekly, Cope stated that she would allow Dylan to stay with Joey two nights a week starting on her third birthday.

But as for Joey's longer visits to their daughter, Samantha explained that she wanted to wait until Dylan “is older and can agree to such visits.”

Shortly after filing for divorce, Lawrence was accused of having an affair with fellow actress Melina Alves. The couple will appear in the upcoming film “Socked In For Christmas.”

In documents obtained by TMZ, Melina's estranged husband Edward Rider, who filed for divorce in July, claimed that he found out in March of this year that Alves and Lawrence were having an affair.

The affair is said to have taken place in California and “at various other times and places,” Rider claimed.

A source recently told People that Joey has been showering Melina with declarations of love – something he also did with Samantha.

“Joey met Melina Alves on the set of her film, where she was a producer,” the insider explained. Melina is also the writer and took on the role of Addy in the upcoming Christmas film.
