Buoyed by RFK Jr.'s support, Trump announces renewed plan to release JFK assassination files

At a rally with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Friday night in Glendale, Arizona, former President Donald Trump said he intends to release classified files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. (Trump had previously promised in 2017 to release “ALL JFK files except the names and addresses of all persons mentioned who are still alive,” but did not do so during his term in office.) “In honor of Bobby, I am announcing tonight that if elected, I will establish a new independent Presidential Commission on Assassination Attempts,” Trump announced. The commission will be “tasked with declassifying all remaining documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy,” he continued as the crowd behind him roared. JFK assassination researcher Jefferson Morley had previously told the Daily Beast that Trump had “no interest in resolving this issue” during his presidency. “As [Mike] Pompeo asked him, 'Don't release this stuff because the CIA doesn't want it to come out.' And he said, 'Okay,'” Morley claimed.
