Kolkata rape and murder case: Accused Chief Minister Sanjay Roy to undergo lie detector test – The Economic Times Video

The gruesome Kolkata rape and murder case continues to infuriate people demanding justice for the victim. Doctors and people from all walks of life have continued their protests across states demanding strict punishment for the accused. Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the case, is scheduled to undergo a polygraph test by the CBI in jail on August 25. The test could not be completed on August 24 due to technical reasons and lack of preparation by the jail administration, a CBI official said. Former school principal Sandip Ghosh, 4 doctors and 1 volunteer also underwent the polygraph test on August 24. The Kolkata High Court has given three weeks time to the CBI to submit a progress report on the investigation, which is to be submitted on September 17. Earlier, the Supreme Court had taken cognizance of the case on its own initiative and posed tough questions to the West Bengal government. The Supreme Court ordered the security of the hospital to be handed over to the CISF on its own initiative while the case is being heard.
