“The fight is not happening”: Former champion delivers bad news about Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight

Many critics do not want 58-year-old Mike Tyson to step into the ring against 27-year-old Jake Paul.

Concerns about the legendary heavyweight champion's health increased when he had to postpone the original fight date due to a stomach ulcer outbreak.

“I would like to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to the recurrence of my stomach ulcer, my doctor has advised me to reduce my training for a few weeks to rest and recover.

My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will soon be back to my full training program. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but you will still end up being knocked out and out of boxing forever. I appreciate everyone's patience and I can't wait to put on an unforgettable performance later this year.”

The fight was postponed to the end of the year and now the first press conference since the announcement of the new date has taken place.

However, former champion and current expert Shawn Porter insisted in his podcast that they “would never meet.”

“Unfortunately, I am not the bearer of bad news: we will never see Mike Tyson in the ring with Jake Paul again.

I'm not in charge, I just don't think Mike is going to get in the ring. I just can't see that happening. It didn't make sense to me, even from a business perspective.

I feel like it didn't make sense for Mike and Jake, even on the lowest common denominator.”

Unless Porter's prediction comes true, Paul vs. Tyson will take place on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix as part of a standard subscription.
