Brick City Fight Night Series returns on October 12

The Brick City Fight Night Series returns to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, October 12, showcasing some of the best boxing talent from New Jersey, New York City and beyond.

The Brick City Fight Night Series is presented by Rising Star Promotions and Prudential Center and features 12 fights from flyweight to heavyweight. Tickets, priced at $306, $231, $121 and $60, go on sale Tuesday, August 27 at noon ET and can be purchased at www.prucenter.com or www.Ticketmaster.com.

The ten-round main event will feature Newark's Michael Anderson. “Slick” Anderson (24-3-1, 17 KOs) has wins over Dashon Johnson (11-2-3), DeMarcus Rogers (14-3-1) and a fifth-round KO of Eudy Bernardo (25-6) in his last fight. Anderson, a welterweight with seven straight wins, is no stranger to the Prudential Center crowd, having fought four of his last five fights in the stadium.

In the joint fight, two bantamweights will fight for the chance to become one of the top contenders in the 118-pound class. Local hero Emmanuel “Salserito” Rodriguez (15-2, 8 KOs) from Newark, NJ, will face Khalid Twaiti (13-0, 5 KOs) from Brooklyn in a ten-round fight for the USBA Regional and WBA Federal titles.

“That's what boxing is all about: fighters facing challenges. It's a true blessing to bring an event to the Prudential Center. I'm more than happy for this opportunity. This event will be unforgettable,” said promoter Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna, who is also the current WBA middleweight champion.

“Prudential Center is thrilled to partner with Rising Star Promotions to welcome some of the best boxing talent in New Jersey and the tri-state area for the biggest edition of the Brick City Fight Night Series yet,” said Dylan Wanagiel, vice president of sports properties and special events at Prudential Center. “We look forward to Saturday, October 12th, a night of electrifying boxing action as we continue to celebrate the 'Sweet Science' in Brick City.”

Also in action in an eight-round bout, Newark's Anthony Johns (8-1, 6 KOs) returns to the Prudential Center against an opponent to be named. Johns, the 2019 National Golden Gloves champion, brings an all-action style that has made him a popular attraction across the state.

One of the region's most popular heavyweights, Kristian Prenga (15-1, 15 KOs), will compete at the Prudential Center for the second consecutive year. Prenga, a native of Albania who now lives in Edgewater, NJ, has earned all of his 15 wins by knockout, including nine in the first two rounds.

In a pivotal junior welterweight bout, Terell Bostic (12-2, 2 KOs) of Wyandanch, NY will face Michael Lee (10-3, 7 KOs) of Jersey City in an eight-round bout. Bostic is coming off a career-best win in his last fight, defeating Carlos Rosario by sixth-round stoppage in June to capture the WBA Fedecentro lightweight belt. Lee is moving down a weight class to get back into the swing of things.

Two New Jersey heavyweights will make their professional debuts against each other when Erasmo Rosado Jr. of Paterson takes on Douglas Walsh of Woodbury.

Other boxers who will be in action include Ghandi Romain (4-1, 4 KOs) of Newark, Kahshad Elliot (2-0, 2 KOs) of Plainfield, NJ, Jean Pierre Valencia (1-0, 1 KO) of Irvington, NJ, Quaseem Carter (5-1, 4 KOs) of Newark, Justin Palmieri (2-0, 1 KO) of Maple Shade, NJ, and Jose “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (19-0-2, 7 KOs) of Harlem, NY.
