Crime in Chicago: Police search for fatal hit-and-run accident on Lake Shore Drive in downtown

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a man earlier this month.

On August 10, at approximately 4:11 a.m., a person was struck while traveling in the northbound lanes in the 1300 block of South DuSable Lakeshore Drive.

The driver called the police and remained at the scene of the accident to wait for the authorities.

Then a white Lincoln Continental hit the pedestrian a second time and drove away.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The car is a white four-door sedan with a sunroof and may be a Lincoln Continental (model year 2017-2020) with front-end damage.

The vehicle was last seen in the 400 block of E. Grand Avenue and the 300 block of E. Grand Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
