A man was killed and two other adults were injured in a shooting in north Sacramento early Sunday morning, with one victim being taken to the hospital himself.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A man was killed and two other adults were injured in a shooting in north Sacramento early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Orlando Way, near El Camino Avenue and just west of the Interstate 80 Business Loop, according to Sacramento Police spokeswoman Officer Allison Smith.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.

Police reportedly found another adult victim nearby with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and took him to the hospital. A third adult victim took himself to the hospital, Smith said.

Police said the homicide unit has taken over the investigation and that the Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the name of the slain victim after his family has been notified.
