Barnet man arrested for breaching stalking order

BARNET – A local man was arrested for allegedly violating a stalking protection order twice within a week, police reported.

Daniel Ehlers Sr., 61, of Barnet, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after his neighbor, Warren Dow, 38, also of Barnet, reported the violations.

According to authorities, Dow called to report that Ehlers had violated a stalking restraining order that had been issued against him on August 21.

The incidents occurred on August 23 and 25 and led to police investigations.

The investigation confirmed that Ehlers had indeed violated the terms of the order on both dates.

On August 25, at approximately 7:16 a.m., Ehlers was arrested by officers and brought to the St. Johnsbury Barracks.

After processing, Ehlers received a summons to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court.

He was subsequently released on bail pending his court date.
