Inmate dies after being found unconscious in Bonneville County Jail

IDAHO FALLS – A Bonneville County Jail inmate died Sunday morning after being found unconscious in his cell.

Lucas Lamar Charboneau, 43, was booked into jail by Idaho Falls police on Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.

According to a press release from the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, officers found Charboneau unconscious at around 5:25 a.m. They began life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived from Idaho Falls. Charboneau was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Bonneville County Sheriff Sam Hulse has asked the Tri-County Sheriff's Association to investigate the circumstances of the death.
