3 people involved in ambulance accident in Stark County

CLEVELAND – Two North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department members and another driver were involved in a car crash in Stark County Saturday morning, according to fire spokesman Lt. Brandon Johnston.

According to authorities, the accident occurred at about 8:40 a.m.

The NLFD had just returned from a medical call when Paramedic 1 was involved in the crash at the corner of Lincoln Way and Alabama Avenue, Johnston said.

Johnston said the crew was able to pull back, check on the other driver and make assessments.

According to authorities, two of the NLFDs involved in the crash were taken to Aultman Orrville Hospital for evaluation by the Dalton Fire Department, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to Mercy Hospital for evaluation by the Brewster Fire Department.

Additional emergency personnel arrived with mutual assistance requests from the Brewster and Dalton fire departments.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has been notified and is conducting the investigation.

The NFLD staff have been released from the hospital and no further information is available.
