Oklahoma State enters this season with a 10-4 record and an appearance in the Big 12 title game. The Cowboys are among the favorites to return to the conference championship in the revamped Big 12, which adds four teams and loses Oklahoma and Texas.

Run back Ollie Gordon is a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate and should lead OSU's offense. He led the country with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns and should again find plenty of room to run behind an experienced and deep offensive line.

The Cowboys also return as starting quarterback Alan Bowman and their two best receivers from last year. With that in mind, the offense should have the potential to put up big numbers every game.

South Dakota State enters preseason as FCS No. 1 team after two consecutive national titles

SDSU is one of the toughest opponents you can have at the FCS level. The Jackrabbits won back-to-back national championships in 2022 and 2023 and have not lost since September 3, 2022. They enter their game against Oklahoma State on a 29-game winning streak.

South Dakota State brings back its starting quarterback from both championship seasons in Mark GronowskiLast season, he threw for 3,058 yards and 29 touchdowns with just five interceptions.

In addition, the jackrabbits are returning Amar Johnsonwho is ready to take on the leadership role in the backfield after rushing for 815 yards and four touchdowns on 128 carries last year. With that in mind, it wouldn't be surprising if they give Oklahoma State some trouble in this game, or even pull off an upset.
