Man dies in motorcycle accident on Ridgeway Avenue Sunday morning

ROCHESTER, NY — Police say a man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Ridgeway Avenue Sunday morning.

According to Rochester police, the crash occurred around 11 a.m. in the area between Tuesdale and Moose streets. They say a Honda was traveling south on Lagrange Avenue and attempted to turn east onto Ridgeway when the light was green. While the Honda was turning, police say a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle traveling west on Ridgeway Avenue struck the Honda after running a red light.

The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car that was hit was uninjured. Officials say alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as causes of the accident.
