Jets defensive snap totals in preseason finale against Giants: Arguments for the last few roster spots

Here are the Jets' defensive snap totals from their last preseason game against the Giants.

The defense had a standout night, with the starters and key backups on the bench. Like the offense, this was a game where players battling for the final spots on the roster had a chance to showcase their skills. Many did. Leonard Taylor, Braiden McGregor and Takk McKinley were all involved in more than one sack.

I'm not sure the final game has nearly as much impact on roster selection as we think it will. The coaching staff has been through over a month of practice and two more preseason games. The final sixty minutes can't make that much difference. Still, some of these players made as compelling a closing argument as they could have. Now we wait to see how things play out as cut day approaches and the Jets trim their roster down to 53 players.
