Campton-Thorton Fire Chief Daniel Defosses said emergency crews were called to Pemi River Road in Thorton near Owl's Nest Friday afternoon because a bride was injured when part of her dress became stuck in the wheel of a golf cart.

Brad McCoil, CEO of Owl's Nest, said the bride was taking photos before the ceremony when she was riding in someone's golf cart and part of her dress got caught in a golf cart wheel.

“It was a freak accident and it's so unfortunate that it happened,” McCoil said.

According to authorities, the bride was initially admitted to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth and then transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon for further treatment.

After the bride was hospitalized, McCoil said the wedding reception and dinner still took place – without the bride.
