But let's be honest: The abandonment of the Ayer Cut could further worsen the situation for the DC brand, which has been Snyder Cut by Justice League and the end of the DC Extended Universe. I think it's time to fully embrace the new chapter that James Gunn is writing for the DC Universe. This fresh direction is exactly what the franchise needs to move forward and leave the burden of past controversies and missteps in the DC Extended Universe behind. With Gunn's creative vision as its guiding light, the DCU has a unique opportunity to tell exciting new stories, introduce new faces, and reinvent the characters we've come to love.

While the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad may have its appeal with its dark and gritty style, but it's not a vision designed to match what James Gunn has planned for the future. Perhaps it's better if the Ayer Cut stays in our imagination; I'm more excited about what's on the horizon.
