Given the massive celebrity endorsement, I had high expectations when I first tested the EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Face Sunscreen earlier this summer. I mean, Richards rarely goes on one of her Amazon Lives without talking about it in some form. That includes her most recent livestream about her beach day essentials and her Spring Break Haul livestream where she called it “the absolute best.”

This facial sunscreen has kept my skin sun-free all summer, as its SPF is 46 and its micronized zinc oxide base protects my face from UVA and UVB rays. But it does so much more. In a celebrity-endorsed mineral formula, it contains skin-healthy ingredients including 5% niacinamide to combat blemishes and discoloration, hyaluronic acid to moisturize, and vitamin E to smooth wrinkles and fine lines.

But that's not all! What I like most about this sunscreen, and which puts all my others to shame, is its face-smoothing tint. It literally acts like an IRL filter for the skin, color-correcting, smoothing, and adding some color to bring it to life. It goes well with my foundation, but it's also given me enough confidence to go makeup-free on some days.

Another aspect that I love about this sunscreen, and that I have to assume celebrities love too, is its safety. It doesn't contain any harmful ingredients like parabens, dyes, fragrances or oils and is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested. It's even recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation for daily use. The brand recommends applying it every two hours when you're out in the sun, which I found to be pretty accurate for my use as well.

The sunscreen costs $45 for the 1.7 oz bottle, which is a little more expensive, but its effectiveness and celebrity and editor endorsements make it worth the money.
