17-year-old dies after car crash in Wolfeboro, authorities say

A 17-year-old Tuftonboro boy has died after a crash in Wolfeboro on Sunday, authorities said. Wolfeboro police said officers responded to a crash in the area of ​​645 N. Main St. around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a car crash. Authorities said the boy was driving a Ford F-350 when he left the road and struck a tree, trapping him in the truck. Officials believe the boy was traveling at a high rate of speed. Wolfeboro police said emergency responders were able to pull the boy from the truck and take him to Higgin's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities said the boy was a junior high school student and that school administrators were notified of his death. Wolfeboro police said the case is currently under investigation.
