Court hears woman accused of murdering man breached bail conditions

A court has heard that the woman accused of killing a man whose body was found in a surfboard bag on the New South Wales Mid North Coast was in breach of bail conditions at the time of her arrest.

Police believe the 62-year-old man's body was discovered on the driveway of a rural property in Darkwood, about an hour west of Coffs Harbour, on Thursday evening.

Lisa Marie Cummings was charged with murder in Nambucca Heads on Friday afternoon and appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court the following day, where she was refused bail.

Police believe the man's death was the result of domestic violence and that the two knew each other.

According to court documents presented by police, the murder is said to have taken place between 8am and 12pm on August 22 in Nambucca Heads.

Ms Cummings appeared briefly in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday via video link from the maximum security women's prison, the Silverwater Correctional Complex in Sydney.

The defence told the court that Ms Cummings had breached good behaviour bail conditions in another case.

The murder trial was adjourned until mid-October.
