JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – On August 26, dog lovers around the world come together to celebrate National Dog Day🐕, a day dedicated to the joy and loyalty these animals bring to our lives. Created in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige, the day highlights the importance of adopting dogs from shelters and honoring their invaluable role as pets, companion animals, and more🎉.

To add to the excitement, News4JAX is hosting a special National Dog Day contest for its insiders. Participants are invited to submit their best dog photos📸 or videos📹 on the SnapJAX Channel “Precious Pets”.
