Woman shot, 44-year-old arrested in Milwaukee

A 37-year-old woman is dead and a 44-year-old has been arrested following a shooting that occurred near 24th Street and Greenfield Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, according to Milwaukee police. Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They are still investigating what led to the shooting. The Milwaukee County Coroner's Office told WISN 12 News it was called to the scene regarding a woman. Milwaukee police originally said the victim was a 50-year-old. Charges against the 44-year-old are pending, according to police, and are being reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
