One person flown out after serious accident in Cayuga County

One person had to be rescued and was flown by helicopter from the scene of a serious accident in Cayuga County late Sunday.

According to our partners at Cayuga-Seneca Fire Wire, Montezuma Rescue, Throop Ambulance and Auburn Ambulance were dispatched to Carner and Fuller roads for a report of a car hitting a tree.

Upon arrival, rescuers found a person trapped and in need of rescue. While rescuers worked to free the person, who appeared to have sustained serious injuries, Life Net was called to the scene.

While emergency crews worked on the scene, Fuller Road at Turnpike Road was closed.

After about 30 minutes of work, rescue workers managed to rescue the person and take him to a nearby hospital using LifeNet.
